CASE SUMMARY

Bill Gaede is a 92 year-old ranch owner and Nazi. Bill was first called with Ed Powell in 2023. Known for his extremely long conversations, Bill often has a trick up his sleave to prevent the other party from hanging up. He will eventually use a racial slur if one engages with him for long enough, and will invariably talk about some combination of his age, his good relationship with his son Wolfgang, how he crashed his truck, how he broke his hip, or a story about his court appearances.

ORIGINS AND HISTORY

Bill Gaede was born in 1933 in California. After serving in the Korean War, he returned to his home state and bought land and cattle, which he owns to this day.

Bill was featured on the BBC documentary Louis and the Nazis, where he was interviewed by Louis Theroux as Louis followed the lives of his daughter April and granddaughters Lynx and Lamb; the twins had another documentary made about them entitled Nazi Pop Twins, in which Bill was featured more prominently (and in a more negative light).

Numerous other characters mentioned by Bill in calls are shown in Nazi Pop Twins, including his son Wolfgang and second wife Dianne.

Unlike any other topic presented to him, Bill is not keen to talk about the documentaries or his granddaughters. This may be due to the fact that Lynx and Lamb eventually broke contact with the family and disavowed their mother’s beliefs; it is implied in the documentary that Dianne did the same.

Soundboard and Prank Calls

On a stream in March 2023, a viewer emailed Kimble with the number of Bill Gaede, a white supremacist who had featured on a Louis Theroux documentary.

Bill was called first with Ed Powell, becoming immediately irate upon Ed’s accusation, even referring to him using a racial slur. Throughout the call, which lasted over 2 hours, many soundboards would join in, much to Bill’s bemusement.

Bill seemed to think that an issue in the telephone system was connecting random people to him, prompting Bill to recount several stories to (and argue with) everyone who came his way.

Shortly after these original calls, a soundboard was created by Ye24 that featured some of Bill’s catchphrases, and the entirety of his story about a Mexican stealing a wrench from his truck. Bill has been called with his own soundboard several times, sometimes failing to recognise his voice.

To this day, Bill believes that every person he hears on the phone is a human being, even the donation TTS voice on the Kimble livestream (whom he often refers to as “sweetheart”).

Personal Life

Bill lives on top of a mountain near Fresno, California. He has at least one daughter, April, and one son, Wolfgang, in addition to two grandchildren, Lynx and Lamb. His second wife, Dianne, who Bill does not mention by name in the calls, may have left him after the documentary Nazi Pop Twins.
